Our Dance Preview program is designed especially for our tiniest dancers! This 30 minute ballet and creative movement class focuses on building independence, confidence, and creativity. Dancers increase coordination and focus while learning through play, storytime, and fun! Our dance preview program aids in school readiness helping our young students with listening skills, following directions, and entering the classroom independently.
Parents can expect their tiny dancers to learn ballet basics like first position, plié, and passe. Additionally, students will increase their gross motor skills while practicing coordination skills such as skipping, hopping, galloping, leaping, and balancing. During early childhood, it is important for children to develop skills such as muscle strength, balance, core strength, endurance and coordination. Our classes support developmentally appropriate challenges and skills.
Our preschool program mascot, Lola Bear, adds a magical touch to Steps’ preschool dance classes! Lola is brave, kind, creative, and she loves to DANCE! Each of our preschool dancers will receive a stuffed animal Lola to practice with at home. Each month we have an exciting, themed Lola Dance Party: on this day our preschoolers bring their Lola bear to class! Lola Dance Parties include a special theme, props, decorations, and take home color sheets!
